Me and some of the brothers had an interesting run-in when we went to 3rd St. Promenade.
We were walking down and we come across a "Truth Defender." He stands there outside on the promenade Saturday-Sunday 8-12 P.M. defending Christianity. He puts out a microphone, an open mic for any non-believer to come and ask him a question. Basically, a debate occurs. Now, that is freaking crazy. He by far has some of THE biggest brass ones I've ever seen on a man. Amazing.
Now, let's look past the defender.
I didn't feel comfortable at all. I knew something was amiss. I felt no God.
This man was up there, defending his faith, Christianity, and yet I felt no God behind him. He had all his facts, all his knowledge, all his references, but the very God he was representing was not felt. I'm not judging the man at all. What he's doing is far more than what I've seen anyone that declared they have a relationship with Christ do. Heck, I can't say too much for myself either.
Still, it all felt empty. People's minds were sure being changed, but their hearts left untouched.
I felt more of God's presence near a solo guitar performer singing "broken Hallelujah."
That's when it was completely set in concrete for me. This is a relationship, something that our minds can't possibly ever fully understand or systematically break down. We can't fit it into our own little comfortable boxes, because simply put, God is too big for us.
God wants our hearts, all this reasoning and logic we try to use will not bring Him any closer to us. He is already at the doors of our hearts, but we still haven't left the confines of our minds to go downstairs and open that door.

ioctutI've been to the Promenade many times and stood there watching the circus that goes on in the name of Christianity. Louis and his henchmen in no way reflect the love of God. The Truth Defenders claim they have the right to ridicule, belittle, mock and pour scorn on those who do not believe or believe different to what they believe. These guys are straight out liars hiding under the notion they are fighting the good fight. I myself am a Christian and am appalled at what i see. I'll give them one thing, they know their Bible, even if it is used in an improper way.
